Sonoma Lavender Soap: the perfect stocking stuffer

MM_HldyWshlstLogo-1

Graphic Designer Allie is hoping for a Sonoma Soap collection under the tree!

This holiday season all I want for Christmas is Sonoma’s Lavender Reserve Soap Collection. Included in this collection I’d like the Lavender Reserve Bar Soap, a co-branded Clean the World soap that helps save the environment and children’s lives around the world.

Sonoma donates a portion of the proceeds of each co-branded bar purchased to help in their mission of saving lives and recycling soap. Lavender is my favorite soap because it gives a sweet floral fragrance. It never fails to put me at ease and comfort. And they are partnered with Clean the World, who is close to my heart.

Take Part in a One-Project Build at IHMRS

ONEProject_verticons

Our friends at Clean The World are hosting a One-Project build at the International Hotel Motel and Restaurant Show  this year. CTW along with Cisco Guest Supply will be trying to assemble 10,000 kits. If you’re headed to the show be sure to stop by and help out!

One Kit. One Team. One Project. One Life.

Clean The World’s One Project is a unique opportunity for individuals to make a big difference in their communities. The basic concept of the project is to assemble and then distribute hygiene kits to those who don’t have access to basic amenities such as soap and toothpaste.

If you’ve ever had to skip brushing your teeth for a day, you know how valuable basic hygiene items can be to simply feeling human. It’s easy to take soap, shampoo and a toothbrush for granted until you don’t have them. Unfortunately the reality of not having these items is not just an issue of comfort for the less fortunate, it’s also a vital health concern. The One Project focuses on the fact that one kit can make a huge difference in someone’s quality of life.

Who is Clean the World

Millions of deaths each year are a result of poor hygiene, due to lack of basic necessities such as soap. Clean The World’s mission is to help prevent these deaths by collecting and recycling discarded amenities from hotels.

IHMRS Build

Last year the McConnell Marketing team had a great experience doing a One-Project build. This year Megan and Katie will get a chance to help out once again as they hit the conference.

The Clean the World ONE project build will be at Booth 2582, please stop by and help out!

A New Hotel is in the Works for SeaWorld Orlando

Homewood Suites by Hilton plans on adding a 134-room hotel near SeaWorld Orlando. According to reporter Richard Bilbao of the Orlando Business Journal, the hotel will sit on a 3.5-acre of land at the intersection of Central Florida Parkway and Westwood Boulevard. The land was purchased for $2.11 million by an undisclosed buyer.

This is a developing story, so we don’t know much else. Check back later for further details.

And don’t forget—our friends Clean the World’s corporate headquarters is also based in Orlando. Maybe another partnership will be in the works! Want to know if your hotel is partnered with Clean the World? Check out their list here.

McConnell Marketing Participates in Clean the World’s ONE Project

The team at McConnell Marketing had the opportunity to participate in the ONE Project—a project started by Clean the World Foundation, Inc., that provides hygiene products to people in the community who are struggling to meet their family’s basic needs.

Clean the World, whose home is in Orlando, shipped all of the products required for each individual hygiene kit to the McConnell Marketing office in Canfield, Ohio. Each team member was then assigned to a station to assemble hygiene kits for the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley and Hurricane Sandy victims.

image-4Assembling the hygiene kits gave the team a chance to bond. Team member Matthew Sprankle said, “It was a heartwarming moment to work with my co-workers on working towards such a rewarding cause.”

Katie Williams took the lead role in the development of the project within the office said, “I think Clean the World is awesome. Taking a product, that would have been thrown away, and recycling it for the greater good truly warms my heart.”

By providing soap to those that need it most, Clean the World helps prevent the spread of disease and saves lives.

Clean the World Wraps Up Successful Fundraising Campaign

The team at McConnell Marketing would like to congratulate everyone at Clean the World for completing—and succeeding—their first RocketHub crowd-funding campaign! We couldn’t be for happy about the results. Contributions from supporters totaled $12,034 toward four machines that will allow Clean the World to make soap at a faster production rate.

“RocketHub’s Brian Meece says the average crowd-funding campaign raises $4,800,” Clean the World’s co-founder CEO, Shawn Seipler said. “We brought in nearly 3x that amount, which is a fantastic blessing and a holiday gift to the Global Hygiene Revolution.”

Along with raising money for the new soap machines, another benefit to this campaign is that thousands of hygiene kits were delivered to Hurricane Sandy victims in the Northeast.
