Here at McConnell Marketing, we are always looking for different ways to volunteer and give back to the community. This Saturday, January 19th is the National Day of Service, and “there are thousands of events across the country where you can honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by volunteering,” those at Foursquare said.
The social network partnered with the Presidential Inaugural Committee to recognize (smart-phone owning) Americans who are taking part in the National Day of Service this Saturday by awarding their first-ever volunteer service badge.
1. Find a volunteer event near you.
2. Volunteer at the event on Saturday, January 19th.
3. Check in at the event on your Foursquare app!
Heading to Washington, D.C. on Monday, January 21st for the Inauguration celebration? You will also unlock the volunteer service badge when you check in at the National Mall!
Leave this world a bit better than it was when you got here—give back. And we would like to give big thank you to all the volunteers participating in the National Day of Service this weekend!
“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.” –Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
